KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Serene Lim, best known for her "weight loss" romantic comedy Think Big Big, is rumoured to have left Hong Kong broadcasting company TVB recently.
Entertainment portal Asia One recently reported that the 24-year-old winner of the Miss Astro Chinese International Pageant 2016 had removed the contact details of her TVB manager on Instagram last Wednesday, sparking fervent speculation amongst her fans.
If the rumours are proven to be true, Lim will be the third Malaysian actress to have left TVB this year after Vivien Yeo, 35, and Kimmy Low, 34.
Her supposed departure has sparked social media rumours that TVB was facing financial woes and having trouble paying artistes.
Lim attended acting classes with TVB after joining the company in 2017.
She had a supporting role in the 2019 drama Girlie Days before being cast as the lead in the upcoming drama Line Walker 3, alongside popular actor Raymond Lam.
Lim, from Slim River in Perak, made her acting debut in Ola Bola director Chiu Keng Guan's film Think Big Big in 2018, about a fat girl who was desperate to become "picture perfect".
