KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian-made Boboiboy Movie 2 (BBM2) created another milestone for being nominated in the prestigious New York Animation Film Awards 2020 (NYAFA).
The good news was announced on Monsta's official Instagram account today.
Monsta (formerly known as Animonsta Studios), is the creator behind our favourite homegrown animated superhero.
The Instagram posting featuring the poster of BBM2 is accompanied by a caption that read: "Congratulations BBM2 for being nominated for Best 3D Animation in New York."
It didn't take long before the posting was flooded with congratulations messages from fans and followers.
For the uninitiated, NYAFA is a film festival established and managed by the Cinematography Awards Foundation, based in New York City, United States.
It is aimed at featuring great animation work from around the globe.
It is understood that the awards ceremony, which is the highlight of the film fest, will be held via "live screenings" on July 1.
BBM2 which hit cinemas in August last year collected RM27.7 million at the local box office in just 26 days, making it the most successful local animated film.
