KUALA LUMPUR: Comedian and MeleTop talk show host Nabil Ahmad is grateful to the government for implementing a moratorium on debts during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period.
He said that the government's move had "saved" him from rising debts which he could not pay on time as a result of the cancellation of various activities and the lack of job offers.
"I have debts to pay, for my house and car, and the lack of offers during the MCO spelt trouble for me. Thank God the government lent a helping hand with the moratorium," said the 36-year-old artiste in a news report yesterday.
Nabil added: "Some people think that we artistes have no financial problems, but that is a myth. Many of my friends sought financial help from me during the MCO, and I did my best to help them despite limited resources."
Meanwhile, the star of films as Lu Pikirlah Sendiri The Movie and Bo-Peng has been hosting the MeleTOP talkshow without a permanent co-host for more than six months now.
Ever since Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor left the show last December, her place has been filled by different celebrity guest hosts.
"I miss Neelofa a lot because we got along great on the set for eight years. Since she left I've been without a permanent co-host for six months, but I'm glad since they're all my good friends. Furthermore, they've got great rapport with fans and really good as hosts."
Among them were Nora Danish, Elly Mazlein and Sherry Al-Hadad.
