#Showbiz: Farid Kamil respects datukship revocation decree

KUALA LUMPUR: Actor and director Farid Kamil has willingly accepted the decision of the Pahang palace to have the award of Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP) previously given to him revoked.

The 39-year-old husband to actress Diana Danielle took to Instagram yesterday to express his gratitude but chose to close the comments section to the entry.

"I was very proud and honoured to have been awarded the title of Datuk by the Pahang palace in Dec 16, 2017.

"I was grateful for the highest award in my life and accepted it with utmost humility at the time.

"Today, I also respectfully accept the decision of the Pahang palace to revoke my DIMP award which carries the title of Datuk," he said.

Meanwhile, the artiste and father of two also shared some news about his career in the post.

"I am currently in the process of marketing my film Remp-it 2 which will be out this year as well," he said.

Yesterday, the Pahang palace made an official announcement of the retraction and nullification of the Datuk title from Farid and producer Boy Iman or Noruliman A Rahman.

State Secretary Datuk Seri Dr Sallehuddin Ishak said that their DIMP awards had been revoked effective Feb 1 this year.

Sallehuddin added that the revocations were carried out following a decree by the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.
