#Showbiz: 'Sorry I kept my marriage under wraps' - Elizabeth Tan

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular singer-songwriter and actress Elizabeth Tan has finally found her Mr Right, and they got married in a small, simple and private ceremony last weekend.

The 28-year-old star of Misteri Dilaila and the coming wrestling film Gila Gusti confirmed that she got married "for real" last Saturday in Gombak, Selangor.

Tan's husband is 30-year-old businessman Ding Siew Jim, whom she has known for a few years. He hails from Ayer Tawar, Sitiawan, Perak.

In a statement yesterday, Tan apologised for keeping her marriage secret, and promised fans that she would "stay the same".

"I want to apologise to fans for not sharing this news earlier. I wanted to make an announcement at the right time but looks like the secret is out," said Tan, adding that she preferred to keep her solemnisation private.

She said that photos of her marriage to Ding, which went viral on social media were real and the event was attended by only 10 family members who observed strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

"So sorry I didn't invite other family members and friends for the event. My decision to get married won't change me, I'll still be the same Lizzy, and I hope evereyone respects my decision."

Photos of Tan's and Ding's union were shared by her father David Tan on Facebook. In his caption to the photos he expressed delight that his youngest of three children had finally tied the knot.

At the launch of Gila Gusti late last year, Tan said that she had plans to get married before she turned 30.
