KUALA LUMPUR: Fabled tales of Langkawi's legends like Tasik Dayang Bunting will spring to life at Dream Forest Langkawi, the island's latest themed attraction scheduled to open in January.
The brainchild of acclaimed theatre and film producer Puan Sri Tiara Jacquelina and her company Enfiniti Group, it will provide visitors an immersive, multi-sensory adventure through Langkawi's magical rainforest, surrounded by illuminations and projection mapping.
"Set within the lush Lubuk Semilang rainforest at the foot of Gunung Raya, the 2.9-hectare park offers a journey where mystical stories from Langkawi vividly unfold," said Tiara in a statement yesterday.
She added that visitors of all ages would walk through a 1.2 km path where they experience audio-visual narrations of Langkawi's legends.
"Visitors unwind further with interactive games and a wayang kulit performance. These features appeal to those who love adventure, and promote a learning experience in Malaysia's myths and legends," said Tiara who is also Enfiniti Group's president.
Tiara created the Dream Forest with help from experts in the arts and creative technology industry in line with her company's tagline Enfiniti Makes Magic.
"We have relentlessly worked towards conceptualising and producing immersive experiences in different mediums for the last 20 years. This time, it is through a high-technology experience, with nature as our stage," she said.
Tiara added that Dream Forest was aimed at supporting local tourism and boosting the local economy.
"Dream Forest is my way of showing optimism with regards to the recovery of the industry.
"Despite the challenges we faced in recent times, it has all been worth it," she said.
Tiara thanked the Kedah State Economic Development Corporation (PKNK) for helping make Dream Forest a reality.
