KUALA LUMPUR: British band New Hope Club, whose 2019 single Know Me Too Well went viral, performed to a packed venue in Petaling Jaya, Selangor today.
The trio, comprising George Smith, Blake Richardson and Reece Bibby, performed more than six songs during a showcase in Sunway Pyramid, as part of its project to promote two new singles — Call Me A Quitter, and Girl Who Does Both.
Here in Malaysia for the second time, the first being in 2018, the trio is thrilled to be able to travel again to promote its new singles and return here.
"We love to be back here. We find our fans in Malaysia are generally polite and friendly," said Richardson, 22, when met at a press conference at Sheraton Petaling Jaya Hotel prior to the afternoon showcase.
The band members also hoped to focus on writing and producing and doing everything themselves after this promotional gig.
"It will help us gain more confidence as a band and musicians," explained Bibby, 24.
As such, they are not planning for any collaboration with other singers at the moment.
"Maybe we'll look into that in future, but not now," said Smith, 23.
