KUALA LUMPUR: Fans of Malaysian superhero Mechamato are in for a new treat as he has just landed on Roblox.
Mechamato's creator and animation giant Monsta has just launched his new immersive experiences in the metaverse mega-platform, Roblox.
The new Roblox application, Mechamato Robot Battle, is an online gaming-space where fans can explore the vast open world of the young hero's hometown Kota Hilir, as seen on Mechamato: The Animated Series.
A statement from Monsta today said that in the game, Kota Hilir is being terrorised by a legion of bad robots.
"The town is in dire need of a superhero to battle and capture the bad robots, so enter Mechamato. His new Mechamato Robot Battle offers unique and interactive experiences from Mechamato: The Animated Series for 52 million daily users."
Monsta chief operating officer Kee Yong Pin said: "We are committed to dive into the metaverse space and delighted to launch the Mechamato Robot Battle game to serve millions of existing fans and new audiences."
Kee added: "Roblox is one of the largest and fastest growing platforms in the metaverse. We want to create a new and immersive experience that will excite them."
Monsta released Mechamato: The Animated Series earlier this year and it was broadcast on Cartoon Network across the Asia Pacific region, including Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand.
The 3D-animated series managed to gain a stronger presence in the region upon entering Netflix in more than 20 countries.
It ranked No.1 in the Kid's TV Shows section and No.2 in Malaysia's Popular TV Shows section on Netflix upon its debut.
A 3D-animated feature film Mechamato Movie, jointly produced by Monsta and Astro Shaw will premiere on Dec 8.
