KUALA LUMPUR: English singer-songwriter Calum Scott mesmerised 2,000 music fans at the Plenary Hall in the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) here during his Bridges concert tonight.
The 90-minute show saw the 34-year-old pop artiste perform 17 songs that included many tracks from his sophomore studio album, Bridges.
From Rise and Biblical to If You Ever Change Your Mind, it was an emotional and entertaining experience as Scott serenaded the audience on the various highs and lows of being in relationships backed by a 6-member live band that included a violinist and cellist.
"Selamat sejahtera Kuala Lumpur. It's great to be back," said Scott to the delight of fans.
"We're going to make you dance in your seats, on your feet and make you cry and cry some more.
"I just wanna say we're going to take you on a journey," he said before breaking into Cross Your Mind.
The Britain's Got Talent alumni, who had his maiden concert in Malaysia back in 2019, also sang several covers, including Maroon 5's This Love.
"I used to be in a cover band but we called ourselves Maroon 4 since we only had four band members.
"I was (Maroon 5 frontman) Adam Levine for a while, minus the creepy DMs," he quipped.
The crowd went wild when he performed You Are The Reason, his second original single from his debut album Only Human.
Scott had the audience in the palm of his hands as they sang along to the pensive track which has garnered over 900 million views on YouTube and more than 800 million streams on Spotify.
Some of the other songs that he belted out included Bridges, Flaws, Run With Me, I'll Be There, Last Tears, Woke Up In Love and Where Are You Now.
For Heaven, one of his latest singles, Scott had local singer and actress Diana Danielle on stage as a special guest to perform the moving tune as a duet.
The voices of the two blended well together as they sang the ditty on the power of love between two people that trumps any other form of paradise.
Scott ended the concert on an emotional high with his own version of the Robyn cover, Dancing On My Own, which got him noticed worldwide after he performed the track on Britain's Got Talent.
It was certainly a crowd-pleasing tune and the audience lapped it up by joining in a sing-along followed by a standing ovation.
The concert, promoted by AEG Presents Asia and PR Worldwide, also featured New Zealand artiste Mitch James as the opening act where he performed a few acoustic pop numbers including No Fixed Abode and Bright Blue Skies.
James also sang with Scott on the Brit artiste's song, Love Is Just A Word.
Prior to his concert in Malaysia, Scott was in Japan, the Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia as part of his biggest headline Asia tour to date.
The talented artiste will be heading to Singapore tomorrow for another concert to wrap up the Asian leg of his Bridges tour.
