#Showbiz: Hafidz Roshdi makes police report following Shuhada's miscarriage

KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Hafidz Roshdi, 29, has made a police report following his wife Nurul Shuhada Mat Shukri's miscarriage on the second day of Hari Raya.

He said he was deeply saddened with what happened, and was leaving it to the police to conduct investigations.

"I pray that this will be resolved without further problems," he said in an interview with Harian Metro today.

Hafidz also said that he had earlier received a message from Shuhada, seeking his permission to have an abortion.

"She told me this via WhatsApp. That is why I made a police report," said Hafidz.

Hafidz claimed that Shuhada told him that she "did not want to look after three children".

"I told her not to have an abortion via WhatsApp. She asked me for money to perform it, but I said no."

Hafidz's Syarie lawyer Datuk Akberdin Abdul Kader said that he had sent a letter to Shuhada's lawyer before Hafidz learnt of the miscarriage.

"We wrote a letter to the defendant's lawyer on April 7 shortly after Hafidz learnt about Shuhada's planned abortion," he said.

Hafidz and Shuhada attended the Shah Alam Syariah High Court today, to resolve their on-going divorce proceedings.

The court fixed a new date, June 20, for the case to continue.

Shuhada filed for divorce on Feb 27, with the approval of her family and Hafidz's.

Hafidz and Shuhada were married on April 30, 2016 and have two children Humairah, 6 and Umar, 2.

On March 13, Hafidz pleaded not guilty in the Kuala Kubu Baru Magistrate's Court to punching and injuring Shuhada's face at the Sungai Buaya Toll Plaza in Hulu Selangor on March 2.

The charge under Section 323 of the Penal Code carries a maximum sentence of a year's jail and a fine of RM2,000 or both.

The court allowed Hafidz RM4,000 bail and ordered him to undergo psychiatric treatment at Hospital Bahagia in Ipoh, Perak.
