KUALA LUMPUR: A man identified as Adiey Salleh says he will always remember what Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin did for his family.
Adie recalled how Malaysia's favourite songstress came to his assistance to foot the bill for the treatment of his child diagnosed with congenital heart disease.
A TikTok account with the handle Sitism Era shared this revelation recently, sharing his story which happened more than a decade ago.
"Our family is forever indebted to Siti. I'm very grateful (for what she had done) and will remember it for as long as I live," he wrote.
When he found out that his baby needed a surgery at the National Heart Institute (IJN), Adiey had no choice but thinking of withdrawing all of his saving from the Employee provident Fund (EPF) as he had no other means to pay for the costly operation.
"But out of the blue, a representative from SimplySiti (the cosmetic company founded and owned by Siti) approached us and said that the company will pay for the bill," he wrote.
He added that while the child had since passed on, his family was glad that the baby's life was prolonged for another three months after the surgery.
Established in 2011, SimplySiti Di Hati campaign was set up to help raise funds for Yayasan IJN, to help children from less privileged background who needed treatment for heart diseases.
