#Showbiz: YG Entertainment denies BlackPink members leaving

KUALA LUMPUR: The price of YG Entertainment's shares fell more than 13 per cent yesterday following media reports that most members of BlackPink were not renewing their contracts.

Sports Seoul reported that most BlackPink members had decided to leave YG Entertainment and Rose, 26, was the only member of the popular quartet who renewed her contract with the agency.

Jisoo, 28, who plans to expand her acting career and Lisa, 26, a major name in the Southeast Asian market, have accepted exclusive contracts with South Korean companies that are worth millions.

There has not been any news about 27-year-old Jennie's future plans.

YG Entertainment in a statement said that talks to renew the members' contracts were still ongoing and nothing had been finalised.

In the last few months, Thai member Lisa was rumoured to be leaving the group to pursue a solo career.

The group embarked on the Born Pink World Tour in October 2022, which ended in Seoul recently and had more than 60 shows around the world.
