#Showbiz: Stacy's family among Penampang flood victims

KUALA LUMPUR: Penampang-born singer Stacy Anam is relieved that five of her family members are all safe despite the recent flash flood in her hometown on Sunday.

The 33-year-old said while it is a usual occurrence that her family's house would always be affected by floods whenever it rains heavily there, the recent incident had been the worst flood in the area, according to Berita Harian.

"My father, brother, sister-in-law, and their children were all at home when it happened.

"While they managed to get themselves to a safe place, they couldn't do anything to keep the stuff inside the house from being affected by the floods as it had been a massive one, with the water level rising rapidly," she was quoted in the report.

Stacy added that she received the bad news as she was preparing to appear on last weekend's episode of the reality programme, The Hardest Singing Show.

"It was quite chaotic when we found out about that. Of course, I was worried for my family members' safety," she said.

While the floods had caused damage to her family's property, she felt grateful that all her family members were safe.

Now that the floods have subsided, her family members are busy cleaning their house from the accumulation of thick mud with the help of volunteers.
