#SHOWBIZ: Resembling Lisa, Thai fried chicken vendor a hit with BlackPink fans

KUALA LUMPUR: A fried chicken seller in Thailand has become a social media phenomenon thanks to her resemblance to Lisa of K-Pop queens BlackPink.

Bangkok Post reported recently that videos of 17-year-old Kulthida, also known as Yeehwa, selling fried chicken at Wat Asokaram market in Samut Prakan near Bangkok, have garnered millions of views on TikTok.

Yeehwa is currently a student in Thailand's northern province Phichit. She returned to Samut Prakan during her school holidays to help her mother.

Yeehwa said that she was flattered and was keen on exploring opportunities in the entertainment industry.

"I'm happy to look like Lisa, she is a great singer and entertainer," said Yeehwa.

Lisa, 27, or Pranpriya Manoban, joined BlackPink in 2016 and began her solo career in 2021 with the album Lalisa.

Her song Money has made her the first K-Pop artiste to surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify.

She is also a fashion icon and ambassador for fashion brands such as Bulgari and Celine, and has more than 103 million followers on Instagram.
