#SHOWBIZ: 'Anak Malaysia' aims to inspire Olympic athletes

POPULAR rapper Altimet, together with Zizi Kirana, Saixse and Fahimi are featured together on the new inspirational song, Anak Malaysia (Child of Malaysia).

Altimet, whose real name is Ahmad Syed Abdul Rahman Alhadad, said the song aimed to provide encouragement and support to the Malaysian contingent currently competing at the Paris Olympic Games.

At the same time, he added that the track was also released in time to enliven the spirit of independence and togetherness in conjunction with the upcoming Merdeka Day and Malaysia Day celebrations.

"This song is more than just a tune, it is a call to action and to encourage athletes and all Malaysians.

"No matter where we are or what we do, we will always be proud to be the children of Malaysia," said the songwriter, who is also the Lembah Jaya state assemblyman.

Anak Malaysia is a collaborative effort, with the track composed by Iqie Hugh, Mage, Fahimi, Saixse and Mambang.

Mage, who also produced the tune, said  the resulting mixture of interesting genres and styles makes the song reflect the unity and determination, as well as showcase the proud spirit of the Malaysian people.

"We wanted to create something that would not only provide inspiration to the athletes, but resonate and evoke the spirit of independence ahead of National Day celebrations," he said.

The song, produced in collaboration with SVLTAN Management, Faithful Music, and Universal Music Malaysia, emphasises the commitment to supporting local talent and contributing to the national spirit.

Zizi said that she hoped Anak Malaysia would be a source of strength for athletes  competing in Paris, as well as an inspiration for the community here to support their homeland.

The song was released on all major digital streaming platforms on July 26.

An accompanying music video directed by Fareez Nasir was also released on the same day on Faithful Music's YouTube channel.
