SINGER-songwriter Kat Roshan's latest single, 'Ku Percaya' (I Believe), is a heartfelt exploration of unrequited love.
Told through the perspective of a girl who believed she had found her true love, only to see it slip away, the track features bittersweet emotions that ends with a sense of false hope and regret.
'Ku Percaya' reflects the fleeting happiness and inevitable parting of two souls destined to meet, but not to stay together.
"The song is about navigating the complexities of love and relationships.
"It speaks to the universal experience of encountering great love that doesn't last, and the importance of learning from these experiences rather than being trapped by regrets," said Kat.
The music video for 'Ku Percaya' features Kat in a poignant portrayal of a character grappling with the blurred lines between reality and illusion after a lost love.
Despite the melancholic theme, the tune maintains an upbeat tempo, underscoring the character's struggle to face the truth.
Collaborating with Indonesian composer Chossy Pratama, who flew from East Timor to do the project, Kat highlighted her enriching experience of working with him.
"Chossy Pratama's music always resonates deeply with me. His understanding of my vision as an artiste and openness to collaboration have been instrumental in shaping this song."
"I aim to connect with listeners on a deeper level and continue growing as an artiste, exploring themes that are both personal and universally relatable," she said.
'Ku Percaya' is available on all digital platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music. The lyric video can be watched on Universal Music Malaysia's official YouTube channel.
