KUALA LUMPUR: Actress and singer Diana Danielle has heard stories of and seen her friends suffer as a result of cyberbullying.
She is deeply worried and angered because she was recently threatened with rape on social media.
Diana has refused to stay silent and plans to make a police report against the "monster" who threatened her.
In an interview with Berita Harian yesterday she said: "Appropriate action must be taken so that no party normalises cyberbullying which can lead to death.
"Cyberbullying is a crime against humanity and it should not be taken lightly."
Diana may have received an apology from the culprit but she will still make a police report once she is free.
"I'm on location at a new drama and once I'm free I'll make a police report.
"I have to do this to create awareness about the evils of cyberbullying," she said.
Diana, 32, hopes that her action will open the eyes of Malaysians to do the same when faced with personal attacks on social media.
"Last year, my old friend Kamal Adli was brutally attacked in Singapore and before that, he had received several threats on social media.
"There are many sick netizens who lose their sanity these days.
"I want to open the eyes of all Malaysians to curb cyberbullying for good," said Diana.
