KUALA LUMPUR: American actress Jenna Ortega was sent explicit images of herself as a teenager.
AsiaOne reported yesterday that the 21-year-old actress who became a star on the Disney Channel in the late 2010s revealed that she was sent "dirty" fake images of herself from certain netizens, and is "terrified" by artificial intelligence.
In a recent interview with the New York Times, she said: "I hate AI. At 14 years old I got a Twitter account because I was supposed to, and I received "dirty" edited content of me as a child."
Ortega added: "It's wrong, it's disgusting. We're gonna have to deal with the consequences."
Ortega said that the first direct message she received and opened was an unsolicited photo of a man's private parts. She was 12 when that happened.
"They're just so repulsive, I deleted it because it was unnecessary, and I didn't need that."
