KUALA LUMPUR: Award-winning singer Khai Bahar is Malaysia's representative to the 13th ABU TV Song Festival in Istanbul, Turkiye today.
Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) television entertainment producer Mohd Amzar Anaqi said in a Harian Metro report yesterday that Khai was chosen based on his vocal prowess and versatility on stage.
"This year, Khai represents the country and will perform his single titled Bayang.
"Khai's participation will elevate Malaysian music, and the festival will be a great platform to showcase the nation's artistic talents to the world," he said.
More than 2,000 guests will attend the event at the Anadolu Auditorium.
The ABU TV Song Festival was first organised in 2012 and it is a non-competitive exhibition of performances from the Asia-Pacific region.
Each participating broadcaster selects an artiste to represent his or her country.
Apart from Malaysia, 10 other countries are involved in the event, namely China, Indonesia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Macau, South Korea, Turkiye, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
