#SHOWBIZ: Korean singer Sumi Jo donates RM30,000 to disabled Malaysians

KUALA LUMPUR: Legendary South Korean soprano singer Sumi Jo has lent a helping hand to disabled Malaysians, with a contribution of RM30,000 to Selangor Cheshire Home.

Sumi and South Korean Ambassador to Malaysia Yeo Seung-Bae presented a mock cheque of RM30,000, on behalf of the South Korean government and the singer herself, to the home's president Datin Paduka Khatijah Sulaiman at the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas (DFP), here yesterday.

The famous songbird also performed with Malaysian pop king Anuar Zain and the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) at the Korea-Malaysia Friendship Concert that took place in the renowned venue.

The concert organised by the South Korean Embassy in Malaysia was in conjunction with the republic's national day and to strengthen relations between Malaysia and South Korea.

The guest of honour at the concert was Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.

Among the songs Sumi performed were I Love You So, Waltz Of The Flowers, I Dreamt That I Dwelt In Marble Halls and I Could Have Danced All Night.

Anuar performed Sedetik Lebih and Andai Takdirnya, and the duet Endless Love with Sumi.
