Another Instagrammable spot in KL, the Saloma Link

KUALA LUMPUR: Looking for yet another Instagrammable spot in the city centre? Look no further as the much awaited Saloma Link pedestrian bridge is now open.

While it cuts the walking time from Kg Baru to the golden triangle by some 20 minutes, the bridge's design coupled with the LED lights that illuminate the structure makes for a gorgeous picture.

The 370m bridge connects Lorong Raja Muda Musa 3 near the Kg Baru LRT station to Jalan Saloma, next to Menara Public Bank which is across the road from the Petronas Twin Towers (KLCC).

The walk now takes 10 minutes as opposed to the normal 30 minutes it would take to reach KLCC.

About 69m of the pedestrian bridge cuts across the Ampang-KL Elevated Highway (AKLEH), adding to its uniqueness.

Pedestrians can also take photos of the KLCC from the bridge as two areas have been designated just for that.

Named the Saloma link after Malaysia's legendary songbird Salmah Ismail, the bridge was a project by the Kampung Baru Development Corporation.

Boasting a "sirih junjung" inspired design, the bridge however will not be open 24 hours in a bid to prevent acts of vandalism.
