The building's original architecture was preserved, featuring wide-open spaces and skylights that flood the interior with natural light, creating a welcoming and airy atmosphere.
"This building has been adapted to modern tastes while retaining its historical charm," shares a representative from The Box, adding: "The central open area allows sunlight to illuminate the space, making it inviting and comfortable. We aim to make this a place where young people not only shop, but also gather, learn and live."
Inside, the space is a vibrant tapestry of local brands and trendy boutiques that cater to Beijing's fashion-forward crowd. Emerging designers and local brands have found a platform in The Box's pop-up spaces, allowing them to showcase their products and connect with a broader audience.
Beyond shopping, The Box offers a range of recreational activities. An open platform has been constructed on the side facade of the mall's upper floor. This area is used as a basketball court that has become a popular spot for players.
There are also designated spaces for skateboarding to provide a dynamic environment for the young.

The shopping experience here is as varied as its history. One of the standout features is a burger restaurant, which is housed in a former gas station, offering a unique dining experience that pays homage to the site's industrial heritage.
