KUALA LUMPUR: Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional (Modenas), subsidiary of DRB-HICOM Bhd has on Tuesday launched a new logo and brand identity.
It marks Modenas' bold ambitions for the future that focuses on global expansion, new technologies, and cleaner solutions.
The national motorcycle company's refreshed logo is inspired by the iconic Modenas "M" symbol in a bold, modern style, within a circle to convey precision and a renewed identity.
"While keeping its signature blue and white colours, the updated logo introduces a Modenas grey and platinum variant.
"The introduction of a new Road Star Element also reflects the brand's new direction, emphasising its industry leadership, adaptability, and commitment to growth," the company said.
Launching the new brand was Tan Sri Syed Faisal Albar, group chairman of Modenas and group managing director of DRB-HICOM.
On the rebranding effort, Modenas chief executive officer Roslan Roskan said the company represents a Malaysian-built legacy.
"We've established a strong foundation in Malaysia, but our ambitions extend far beyond. The mobility industry is rapidly evolving, driven by the urgent need for energy transition and growing concerns for environmental sustainability.
"With this, our renewed vision will see us bringing excitement that connects people and communities, by providing value, technology, and sustainable products globally," Roslan added.
To commemorate the milestone, Modenas unveiled an upgraded, eco-friendly variant of the Kriss 110, the first Kriss variant to meet the stringent Euro 4 emissions standards.
The model showcases Modenas' commitment to sustainability and compliance with global environmental regulations.
This also marks the brand's expanded footprint towards a broader initiative to introduce more environmentally friendly variants moving forward.
Honouring the past and looking into the future
Modenas said its strategic collaborations with global manufacturers such as Kawasaki Motors Ltd, (KMC), Kwang Yang Motor Co Ltd (Kymco) of Taiwan and Bajaj Auto Ltd of India have facilitated expansion into international markets.
This included Greece, South America, Russia, Thailand, and more recently China in 2024 with the locally-assembled Kawasaki ZX-6R.
In line with its newly-established commitment to eco-friendly motorcycle technologies, Modenas is also actively shaping a cleaner future.
The strategy is already taking shape, as seen in its supply of MEV-1 electric motorcycles to Pos Malaysia Bhd since 2023, supporting the national courier's net zero mission.
