KUALA LUMPUR: Naza Quest Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Chevrolet cars in Malaysia, has launched the much-anticipated Chevrolet Malibu LTZ executive sedan.
The Malibu is an iconic nameplate for Chevrolet. It made its mark 50 years ago in the range-topping variant of Chevelle, a model which sold more than 200,000 units in its first year.
It has been an uphill climb for the Malibu ever since, with worldwide commercial success turning it into one of General Motors’ top- selling nameplates, Naza group joint executive chairman Datuk Wira SM Faisal SM Nasimuddin said at the launch on Tuesday.
“The launch of Chevrolet Malibu LTZ marks the entry of one of the automotive industry’s most iconic and successful nameplates into the country. Its qualities not only make it a fitting flagship model for the Chevrolet brand in Malaysia, but also a car that stays true to the Naza Group’s mission of delivering vehicles of the highest quality to Malaysian drivers,” he added.
It is the only mid-sized car in the industry to win the Consumers Digest Automotive “Best Buy” award for three consecutive years (2009-2011) and has been named the “Top Safety Pick” by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety twice in a row, said Faisal.
