Donating to children in need

RAWANG: FRASER Place Kuala Lumpur donated stationery, activity books for children, food and cash to Pertubuhan Kebajikan Ephratha Rawang Selangor or Ephratha Home to support its ongoing efforts in providing shelter and education for orphans, children raised by single parents and underprivileged children.

The donation included contributions from the management and staff of the serviced residences and was part of its corporate social responsibility programme for the underprivileged.

Some 19 volunteers from Fraser Place Kuala Lumpur and the upcoming Fraser Residence Kuala Lumpur contributed items such as rice, Milo, soap powder, biscuits, cereals and canned food.

The company also treated the children and caretakers to a specially prepared lunch by the serviced residences’ chefs, which was held here recently.

After a hearty lunch, they celebrated the birthday of one of the children, Shakinah, who turned
6, with a birthday cake.

Fraser Place Kuala Lumpur and Fraser Residence Kuala Lumpur Group general manager Shirley Lai presented the children with duit raya and goodie bags that included Fraser’s Luc and Lucia plush toys, stationery sets and children’s activities books. The children were happy to receive their gifts.

Lai said: “We were inspired by what the home’s founder Pastor Christina is doing to help these children, particularly in ensuring that they had a good education. We hope that our contribution will help them and give the children a head start in their education for a brighter future.”
