KUALA LUMPUR: Mark your calendars for May 28 as Xiaomi’s Mi 4i – the successor to the Mi 3 will finally be on sale on Xiaomi Malaysia’s website (www.mi.com/my) at an impressive price of RM749.
The 5-inch, 1080p Full HD screen Mi4i will run on the new MIUI 6 and Android 5.0 Lollipop, bundled with some serious specs to go with it; 2nd-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core 64-bit processor, 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM, 16GB of onboard Flash, and dual 4G SIM slots.
Other highlights include a new Sunlight Display feature to allow better display viewing under glaring light, an improved camera software to go with its 13MP f/2.0 rear camera and a front-facing 5MP camera, and a 3120mAh battery purportedly to allow one-and-a-half days of normal phone usage.
The phone’s launch also coincides with Xiaomi Malaysia’s first year anniversary sale which will take place on the website on the same day starting from 10am to 8pm.
Sales of selected Xiaomi products and accessories will have a discount range of up to 90 per cent.
Xiaomi has said it may have a special 8am opening sale for those interested to own a Mi 4i, a move
to allow the soon-to-be owners to avoid the traffic of those who would take part in the anniversary
sale.
Local telco operators will begin selling the phone starting June 12.
