PETALING JAYA: Popular action hero Farid Kamil and his actress wife Diana Danielle are expecting baby No. 2.
Farid said Diana is now about five months pregnant, and both of them are very excited about the arrival of the little one.
“We already have a boy, Muhammad, who is now 2, and he’s also eagerly awaiting the birth of his younger sibling,” said Farid at a media conference to publicise his new movie Love, Supermoon at Seri Pentas, Bandar Utama here yesterday.
Farid and Diana have decided not to guess the gender of their second child.
“We may have another son, or a daughter, but it’s all God’s will. We accept our child as he or she is,” said Farid, adding that Diana was watching her diet carefully to ensure the baby would turn out strong and healthy.
Farid said Muhammad was “growing fast” and he recently rode a horse without fear.
“He loves cycling on his mini bicycle in the evenings, and he’s a very active and cheerful boy.”
In the romantic comedy entitled Supermoon which will be released on Oct 22, Farid plays playboy Dr Razak.
This Grand Brilliance production directed by Wan Hasliza Wan Zainuddin also stars Nadiya Nisaa, Rita Rudaini, Anne Ngasri, Zain Hamid, Azhar Sulaiman, Zain Saidin and Diana Johor.
“Dr Razak always bumps into Triz (played by Nadiya), who works in a car call centre, each time he attends birthday parties or wedding dinners.
“Razak and Triz love to gossip about things going on in their circle of friends. Along the way, they become attracted to each other.”
Farid who is very selective in taking up film roles these days said he would rather spend quality time with his children and not miss major events in their lives.
“Now that I’m preparing myself for the arrival of ‘baby No. 2’, I’ve got to be fit and healthy for the big day, so physical movies with lots of bruises are a big ‘no’. Light-hearted rom-coms are just right,” said Farid, who aspires to sit in the producer’s chair someday.
The 34-year-old will also be appearing in director Osman Ali’s Langit Cinta alongside Nur Fazura Sharifuddin, Keith Foo, Fauziah Ahmad Daud, Datuk Jalaluddin Hassan and Siti Saleha Baharom. The film is slated for release by year end of early next year.
“It is a love story, in fact, it is a story of forbidden love between my character, a young farmer, and the village beauty, played by Fazura. He has long pined for her, but her parents want her to wed a well-educated man from the big city.”
