KUALA LUMPUR: Nur Dhabitah Sabri will make her Olympic debut in Rio next year after the 16-year-old clinched the women's 10m platform individual gold medal at the Asian Diving Cup in Bukit Jalil today.
She becomes the fourth Malaysian diver to qualify for the Olympics after Pandelela Rinong, Wendy Ng and Ooi Tze Liang.
Nur Dhabitah was second after the fourth dive but she posted a near - perfect 78.40 in her final attempt for a 383.10 total.
"I did not expect to qualify in the platform as my forte is springboard. I told myself to remain calm for my final attempt and it paid dividends," said Dhabitah at National Aquatic Centre.
China's Mi Ya Suo finished second with 380.10 followed by Malaysia's Loh Zhiayi on 346.10.
