PASIR GUDANG: Deputy Education Minister P. Kamalanathan said he will investigate a viral video of two secondary school students hugging and kissing in what looked like a courting couple’s proposal.
He said the students and school were not yet identified, but the matter will be looked into.
The 15-second video uploaded on the Mynewshub Facebook yesterday showed a girl in school uniform running towards a male student who was down on his knees at the compound of a school.
They were surrounded by other students who cheered with some of them shouting: "kiss him, kiss him!". The two students embraced and kissed.
"We will investigate. I have not seen the video. I heard from sources. I have to see the video and we will investigate," said Kamalanathan when visiting SMK Pasir Gudang 3 here today.
He said such a case proved that it was important for parents and teachers to guide students to shape their character as they were influenced by different things now as compared to the past.
The video has received more than 181,862 views on the Mynewshub FB as of today. Netizens responded to the video with mostly brickbats than bouquets.
One Facebook user Shelluq Kroes said: "This is what we call puppy love. Adik-adik, study first. Poor y'all parents."
