JOHOR BARU: Lorry drivers are appealing to the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) to ease up on security checks at the Johor-Singapore Causeway, which were stepped up after the Paris terror attacks last month.
Johor Lorry Operators Association president Anthony Tan said the queues had become longer in the past week.
Today the queues were so bad it prompted some lorries as well as other vehicles to turn back from entering the republic.
"Beefing up security is good. I am not against it but some of our members started their journey as early as 4am and they only managed to get into Singapore at 11am or 12pm.
"I hope the ICA and Customs will come up with a solution to the massive congestion at the Causeway," he said.
