LEE Chong Wei reclaimed the men's singles title at the Malaysia Open with a superb win over China's Chen Long in the final today.
Chong Wei, 34, who missed last year's edition due to a doping suspension, was in no mood to fool around at the Malawati Stadium in Shah Alam, as he wrapped up the match 21-13, 21-8 in just 42 minutes.
The title is Chong Wei's 11th Malaysia Open crown after having won in 2004, 2005, 2006 and consecutively from 2008-2014.
The win will also silence Chong Wei's critics, especially after the Malaysian's two early round defeats at the recent All England and India Open.
Chong Wei, pocketed US$41,250 (approximately RM162,000) in prize money, while Chen Long settled for US$20,900 (approximately RM82,000).
