KUALA LUMPUR: Police are adopting the Malaysian psychometric integrity test (MIT) as part of its recruitment process, said Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.
MIT is a technology-backed integrity assessment tool which also measures the value of work ethics and the positive outlook on social and ethical behaviour of candidates.
The tool helps in determining whether a candidate has the right mindset to conform to the police's requirements in appreciating societal attitude, beliefs and behaviours.
"This is to ensure that the police recruit the right people for the right job. Only those who are truly competent will be considered for recruitment, placement, and promotion.
"The tests will identify leadership qualities and credibility of a candidate," said Khalid.
Earlier, Khalid witnessed the MIT launch by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi at the Defence Services Asia 2016 exhibition and conference at Putra World Trade Centre.
