Arcade worker survives drive-by shooting

BUTTERWORTH: A 21-year-old arcade game worker cheated death after a bullet hit his thigh in a drive-by shooting today.

Seberang Prai Utara district chief Assistant Commissioner Azmi Adam said the shot was fired at close range from a car.

He said the incident happened at Perusahaan Teras Jaya, Mak Mandin, at 8.40am.

"The incident happened when the worker stepped out from the outlet.

"Three shots were fired and the forensic team has recovered three bullet casings at the scene. A bullet has been also recovered," he said.

The worker has been warded at the Seberang Jaya Hospital for treatment.

Police have classified the case as attempted murder under Section 307 of the Penal Code.

Azmi said police have yet to establish the motive behind the incident.
