SHAH ALAM: The decision by Pas to contest in the Sungai Besar by-election is final, and should not be disputed by anyone.
Pas vice-president Iskandar Abdul Samad says the party is focused on winning the election and has already begun mobilising its machinery.
"Sungai Besar is traditionally a Pas seat. No one should question this," he told a press conference at the Kg Baru Hicom PPR flats, here, today.
He said the party is confident it has a good chance of winning the election.
This, he said, is because there are many local and national issues shouldered by Umno and Barisan Nasional which need to be highlighted and tackled.
"I believe the Pas machinery and experts will pay close attention to this election and will not be hindered by any other issues," he said.
Iskandar was also asked to comment on the issue of Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, who allegedly issued an ultimatum to three Pas excos to quit if the party insisted on contesting in the election.
He declined comment, only saying that the party's central committee will handle all related issues in the state.
“The media have been creating speculation about the meeting between the MB and exco members.
"But, to us, the most important thing is the statement announced by Azmin that Pas will stay in the Selangor government administration."
