KUALA LUMPUR: After an overwhelming successful run of Shrek The Musical last month, Base Malaysia returns with Hi-5 Fairytale, set to be staged at Istana Budaya from Dec 8 till 11.
Fans of Hi-5, an Australian children’s musical group formed in 1998, and which is associated with the children’s television series of the same name, are in for a treat.
Comprising of Dayen Zheng, Mary Lascaris, Tanika Anderson, Lachie Dearing and Chris White, the performers aim to entertain and educate children through music, movement and play.
The cast promises to take the audience through the rough seas, down sparkly lanes and even prehistoric lands.
Be enthralled by the princesses and knights, dinosaurs and even travelling bugs in this fantastical production. Stories will come alive as the loveable Hi-5 puppet, Chatterbox, narrates from her magical Hi-5 book of Sharing Stories – just like in the TV show. Get ready to discover Jup Jup and his cheeky family of adventurers peering down a purple beanstalk.
“Hi-5 Fairytale is a show for the whole family. Parents will enjoy the funny twists in each fairytale, while children will be singing and dancing alongside the playful characters,” said Hi-5 tour director Greg Suzuki in a press statement today.
The production promises some great laughs, awesome songs and pretty costumes to delight the audience’s senses.
There will also be stories of bravery and friendship in the fun-filled family adventure, which will be coupled with Hi-5’s signature theatrics such as special effects and fancy projections.
Just get ready to sing-a-long to your favourite numbers from Hi-5 such as L.O.V.E, Pretending Day, and Living In A Fairytale.
Early bird tickets are available from now until July 31, with a 10 per cent discount for weekend shows and additional five per cent for shows on Thursday and Friday. And there will be another special offer for those who buy tickets by Aug 21 – purchases will be entitled to a free Jupster plush toy worth RM79. For ticketing info, visit www.ticketpro.com.my.
