Natasha strikes gold at World Youth Bowling Championships

KUALA LUMPUR: Natasha Roslan capped her final outing in the World Youth Bowling Championships by winning the girls' masters gold medal in Nebraska yesterday.

Natasha, a senior team bowler since 2013, defeated Singapore's Amabel Chua 190-158, 236-245, 227-187 in the final.

In the semifinals, the Malaysian overcame Japan's Mirai Ishimoto 241-218, 248-221 to earn a crack at the title.

"It is great to sign off my junior campaign with a gold medal. I hope it will spur me in the future," said Natasha.

Tun Ameerul Tun Azan won a bronze in the boys' masters.

Malaysia finished third overall in the tournament with one gold, two silver and three bronze medals.

The United States topped the standing with a haul of 6-3-4 while South Korea finished second on 2-1-0.
