UM vice-chancellor, Axiata Group CEO receive Panglima Setia Mahkota award

KUALA LUMPUR: Universiti Malaya vice-chancellor Tan Sri Prof Dr Mohd Amin Jalaludin and Axiata Group CEO Tan Sri Jamaludin Ibrahim were among five recipients of the Panglima Setia Mahkota (PSM) award which carries the title ‘Tan Sri’, at an investiture ceremony, here, today.

The ceremony held at Istana Negara saw 235 individuals receiving federal awards and medals in conjunction with the birthday celebration of Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah which fell on June 4.

Also gracing the ceremony was Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tuanku Hajah Haminah.

The others conferred the PSM were former Sandakan MP Tan Sri Lau Ngan Siew, president of the Retired Senior Police Officers Association of Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) Tan Sri Mohd Ismail Che Rus and Arus Intelek Sdn Bhd executive chairman Tan Sri Azizah Abdul Ghani.

The King also presented the Panglima Jasa Negara (PJN) award which carries the title ‘Datuk’ to eight recipients, including SME Corp chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Hafsah Hashim.

The JPN recipients also included Kelantan state secretary Datuk Mohd Faudzi Che Mamat, Johor state executive councillor Datuk Md Jais Sarday and federal police headquarters (Bukit Aman) director of Management Datuk Zulkifli Abdullah.

The others bestowed the JPN were SIPRO Plastic Industries managing director Datuk Noraini Soltan, CB Industrial Product Holding Berhad managing director Datuk Lim Chai Beng, MBSB senior vice-president (Corporate Business) Datuk Nor Azam M Taib and Yesterday Melody Sdn Bhd former president Datuk Chiong Geok Eng.

Six individuals received the Johan Mangku Negara (JMN); seven, the Johan Setia Mahkota (JSM) and 52, the Kesatria Mangku Negara (KMN) awards.

There were 73 recipients of the Ahli Mangku Negara (AMN) and 84, the Pingat Pangkuan Negara (PPN) awards.--BERNAMA
