KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will make an official visit to Saudi Arabia from today until Oct 16, the Foreign Ministry said today.
The ministry in a statement said that the deputy prime minister is scheduled to have an audience with King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Naif Al-Saud and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Al-Saud.
Ahmad Zahid is also scheduled to meet the Governor of Makkah in Jeddah, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal.
Ahmad Zahid will also visit Saudi Arabia’s deradicalization centre in Riyadh namely Mohammad Bin Naif Counseling and Care Centre and ‘Madinah Knowledge Economic City’ in Madinah.
“He is also scheduled to meet the Malaysia-Saudi Arabia Business Council (MSBC) in Jeddah and the Malaysian communities (expatriates and students) in Riyadh and Madinah,” the statement said.
The visit would provide an excellent opportunity for the leaders of Malaysia and Saudi Arabia to discuss various issues of mutual interest particularly in the area of security cooperation, it added.
The deputy prime minister will be accompanied by his wife Datin Seri Hamidah Khamis and senior government officials from the Home Ministry and Foreign Ministry. -- Bernama
