I NOTE with regret that many Malaysian homes and offices continue to use electrical extension cords. This is a bad practice.
We must be put an end to this. Our power utility company does not condone this practice.
It is not safe and a dangerous way to use energy. Agreed, they can be used temporarily but do not make them a permanent a fixture at homes or offices.
Be warned, always check the electrical appliances and keep them in good condition.
For example, are your bulbs of the right wattage?
Ensure the cords of your electrical appliances are in good condition, too.
Do not use worn out or damaged cords. These, too, have caused many a fire.
Ensure your electrical products are Sirim approved.
Know that it pays to take extra precaution with electrical equipment. One can get hurt if we take it for granted.
So, keep yourself and your family safe at all times.
