Alif Satar a daddy again

IT’S another baby girl for singer-host-actor Alif Satar and his wife, Shadila Halid!

The couple welcomed their second daughter, Ariana Mecca, at 6.45am on Feb 2 at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur.

The proud father of two shared the news on Instagram, posting a shot of the newborn, wrapped in a blanket, being cradled in his arms. The photo was captioned: “Alhamdulillah... I’m a daddy again!”

Congratulatory messages came flooding in from fans and followers of the couple, who also have daughter Alisha, who will turn 2 this year.

Shadila, 33, posted a picture of Alif and their two girls, looking overjoyed by the latest addition. The photo was captioned: “Now, my husband’s wish to have 2 girls has come true. We introduce to you Alisha’s little sister, Ariana Mecca Muhammad Alif.

“When we had our firstborn, I enjoyed having girls around the house. But honestly, I don’t mind if it’s a boy or a girl... just as long as they are safe and healthy,” the Dia Semanis Honey star told the New Straits Times

On the story behind the name chosen for the newborn, Alif said: “Ariana means ‘full of life’ and Mecca is the Islamic holy site, the one true city that never sleeps.

“My wife and I had the idea to name our daughter Ariana for a long time.

“But, we wanted to add a second name, too, so we chose Mecca to commemorate our first umrah performed together when my wife was seven months pregnant.

“The sensation, the peaceful aura of the holy city, is indescribable.

“So, we thought that Mecca felt right,” said the 27-year-old.

“I feel that fatherhood has made me wiser.

“I feel calm when making decisions. I already know that I am a family man, but I didn’t know that I could be more than that.

“Thank you so much to everyone who has sent beautiful messages.

“My wife and I hope our fans and followers will continue to support and pray for our happiness.”

Alif started his singing career after winning third place in 8TV’s reality singing competition, One In a Million, in its inaugural season in 2008.

Faizal Tahir came in second, while Suki Low was the winner.

Alif also hosted entertainment programmes, such as TV3’s Clevergirl Malaysia and the 13th season of Astro’s Akademi Fantasia.

Most recently, his duet single with Shila Amzah, titled Selamanya Cinta,  which was the official soundtrack for hit television series Suri Hari Mr Pilot, competed at the Anugerah Juara Lagu 31 finals.
