KUALA LUMPUR: A woman and two girls of primary school age were killed in a house fire at Taman Wangsa Permai in Kepong, here last night.
The 11pm incident also saw three others, including an octogenarian woman, suffer burns.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Mohd Sani Harul said the deceased were identified as foreigner Sok Srey, 29; and Malaysian girls Ng Zi Xuan, 10, and Lam Yan Yi, 7.
Sani said the blaze destroyed 80 per cent of the double-storey terrace home’s ground floor.
"We received a call on the incident at 11.20pm and dispatched 20 firemen from the Sungai Buloh and Selayang stations to the scene.
"The team managed to rescue three victims, who suffered burns in the incident," he said.
Sani said the three survivors were rescued from the first floor. However, it has yet to be ascertained where the firemen found the bodies of those killed.
The victims and the remains of the deceased were sent to the Sungai Buloh Hospital.
