North Korean man arrested in Kuchai Lama over Kim killing

KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested one of four men, believed to be the masterminds behind the assassination of Kim Jong-nam at KLIA, at Jalan Kuchai Lama here last night.

He is identified as Ri Jong Chol, according to a statement by Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.

The 47-year-old man, who holds a North Korean passport, was arrested at 11pm in a condominium in this area.

It is learned that Ri had been hiding in the apartment after learning about the manhunt on suspects of the murder.

This latest arrest comes following the detention of two foreign female suspects and a Malaysian man linked to the murder.

Police are now hot on the trail of three other North Korean men.
