2 NGOs file report against 4 for US DoJ involvement; accuses them of being CIA agents

KUALA LUMPUR: Two non-governmental organisations (NGOs) today lodged police reports against four people for their alleged involvement with the United States Department of Justice (DoJ).

The four were named as former Suara Rakyat Malaysia (Suaram) secretariat member Cynthia Gabriel; Suaram co-founder R. Sivarasa; lawyer Matthias Chang; and Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle-Brown.

Pertubuhan Jaringan Rakyat Malaysia (PJRM) said they believe the quartet leads an "organisation", and acts as agents for America's Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to topple the Malaysian government.

"Since it is close to the general election, they are coming out with all sorts of old issues to (discredit the government).

"Their aim has always been to (bring) down the government, and I believe this has been planned for quite a while.

"I also believe that this has got to do with international politics," the PJRM president, Ng Lum Yong, said after lodging the police report at the Sentul police station.

He urged the police to investigate the four individuals.

Earlier, Jaringan Melayu Malaysia's (JMM) Pertiwi wing also lodged a police report against the four individuals for allegedly being involved with US' Department of Justice (DoJ).

It claimed the four were working with DoJ to rehash issues relating to 1Malaysia Development Berhad.

The movement's report at the Ampang Jaya police station today echoed JMM's police report at Dang Wangi police headquarters yesterday on the same issue.

Pertiwi chief Khalijah Mohamed alleged the four had together planned to influence Malaysians with slanders and false news, including to topple the government.

She also urged the police to investigate the four individuals under Section 4A of the Election Offences Act 1954, Section 499/500 of the Penal Code, Section 120A of the Penal Code and the Sedition Act.
