JOHOR BARU: Police arrested four men and are on the hunt for another three people in connection with the murder of a teenager last month.
Iskandar Puteri police chief Assistant Commissioner Noor Hashim Mohamad said the four men, aged 22 to 41, were detained around Johor Baru between Sept 29 and today.
One of them, a factory technician in Singapore, was arrested at 5.20pm at the Sultan Iskandar Building on Sept 29.
Another 22-year-old man who works in a stable in Singapore, was arrested in Taman Nusa Bestari here about 6.40pm the next day.
The third suspect, aged 31, was detained in Taman Nusa Sentral yesterday, while the fourth suspect aged 41 was picked up in Taman Nusa Puncak today.
“Initial investigations revealed that the motive had something to do with dissatisfaction following a claim that the victim had allegedly stolen money and jewellery from a housemate,” said Noor Hashim.
He said the victim was identified as S. Navina, 19, from Ipoh, who had lived in a rented house in Taman Bukit Indah with the suspects for the past six months.
He said police were tracing another two men and the girlfriend of one of them to assist investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
