Audi driver suffers burns after acid attack by 2 men

KUALA LUMPUR: A man suffered burn injuries to his face and back in an acid attack in front of Olympia Tower, Jalan Raja Chulan, Tuesday evening.

Dang Wangi deputy police chief Superintendent Rudy Abdullah said police received a distress call at 6.35pm.

“The witness, a man, informed us that two men on a blue Yamaha 125 motorcycle had splashed the acid at an Audi driver through the car window in front of Olympia Tower, Jalan Raja Chulan.

“The victim, in his 40s, was sent to Tong Shin Hospital by members of the public,” he said in a statement.

He said initial investigation revealed that the victim was driving alone during the incident, adding that the two attackers were wearing black jacket and helmets.

Rudy said the victim suffered 12 to 20 per cent burn injuries to his back and the right side of his face.

“He is in stable condition and will be transferred to Prince Court Hospital.”

The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means.
