Najib swears he is innocent

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Najib Razak today recited the Muslim oath of "Wallahi Wabillahi Watallahi" to indicate the truth of his innocence before he is sentenced after being found guilty of charges relating to the misappropriation of RM42 million of SRC International funds.

The former prime minister told high court judge Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali he had never demanded for the money or offered the funds.

Najib, 67, also told the judge he had contributed vastly to the development of the country during his tenure as prime minister.

Mohd Nazlan is expected to hand down the sentence against Najib shortly.
