IPOH: Thirty-one policemen who were involved in the Macau Scam syndicate and online gambling activities will face the music soon including being sacked from the force.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador said the matter has been forwarded to the Police Force Commission (PFC) for further action.
He said some of the policemen were found to be involved in the Macau scam syndicate, masterminded by locals who were recently arrested.
"Federal police Integrity and Standard Compliance Department (JIPS) has completed the investigation paper and submitted it to the SPP which chaired by the minister (Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin).
"This is a serious offence and as an Inspector General of Police, I have taken this matter to a higher level to be judged fairly," he said.
Abdul Hamid told reporters after closing Orang Asli Constable Basic Course at General Operations Force (GOF) Ulu Kinta, here, today.
He added that among the punishment included being terminated from the service as well as a salary cut.
