Two students plead guilty to insulting teacher [NSTTV]

KOTA BARU: Two Form Five students from a secondary school here, were charged at the magistrate's court today with insulting their teacher by wearing school uniforms with vulgar words while riding a motorcycle last week.

The two, both 18-years-old, pleaded guilty to the offence before Magistrate Mohd Izuddin Mohd Shukri.

They were alleged to have committed the offence at Chempaka roundabout at 4pm on March 3.

Both were charged under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955 which carries a maximum penalty of RM100 fine.

They were represented by lawyer Nik Nazriani Nik Ab Rahman from the National Legal Aid Foundation while deputy public prosecutor S. Gayathri prosecuted the case.

The magistrate allowed the two to be released on a RM100 bail each with one surety.

He then set June 22 for re-mention.
