BALIK PULAU: A man who allegedly took an upskirt photo of a woman at a shopping complex in Bayan Lepas here yesterday has been arrested by police.
The suspect, in his 20s, was nabbed by members of the public, who later handed him to police.
Southwest police chief Superintendent Kamarul Rizal Jenal said the suspect has been remanded for two days, beginning today, to assist into the incident's investigation.
He said checks showed that the suspect did not have any previous record.
"We have seized two iPhones along with a powerbank, earbuds and a clothing bag with the word 'Work Hard' written on it.
"The case is probed under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955," he said.
Section 14 of the 1955 Act reads: "Any person who uses any indecent, threatening, abusive or insulting words, or behaves in a threatening or insulting manner, or posts up or affixes or exhibits any indecent, threatening, abusive or insulting written paper or drawing with intent to provoke a breach of the peace, or whereby a breach of the peace is likely to be occasioned, shall be liable to a fine not exceeding RM100."
