SEREMBAN: A Nepali man has been remanded for seven days to assist in the investigation into the death of two of his countrymen who are believed to have been murdered in Jalan Haruan 4/7, Oakland Industrial Park, here, yesterday.
Seremban police chief Assistant Commissioner Nanda Maarof said the remand application was made this morning and the order was issued by Assistant Registrar Nur Haryatie Mohd Saini.
"A 37-year-old Nepali man, who is the manager of the premises, has been remanded for seven days from today until Dec 10. It is to help the investigation into the case.
"The suspect was the only individual at the location where the bodies of his two countrymen were found. The motive behind the incident is still under investigation."
Nanda said the bodies of the men, aged 35 and 46, were found with injuries on the face at a workers' canteen at 6.20pm yesterday.
He said the incident was believed to be linked to alcohol.
"There were traces of blood at the scene of the incident, in addition to injuries on the face of the two bodies. The two bodies were found far from each other.
"Initial investigations led to the discovery of a hammer that is believed to be the weapon used in the incident. A Nepali male suspect was detained to assist in the investigation.
"Further checks led to the discovery of the two victims, aged 35 and 46, who were security guards at the same company and lived near the scene of the incident.
"We will look into CCTV footage near the scene of the incident. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code."
